Why yes, I do love the Age of Sail and I even want to make my career of it. Seriously. Those ships are just too pretty for my own good. I had noticed that you were into POTC (I think I may have squeed accordingly, I'm not sure). I'm just waiting to get Scarecrow to calm down (he's the rabid plotbunny from hell, seriously) so I can get back to writing some more POTC fic. But that's going to be a while. Kitten and Scarecrow are not letting me go that easily.
