I know, I know, this was supposed to be yesterday, but between period fail and an attempt to be productive, it didn't happen. ETA: And now due to LJ it became day 5.

Oh, and I re-discovered my favorite song last night through Conan's last Tonight Show last night. "Free Bird" by Lynryrd Skynyrd. And now it makes me sad.

Anyway, here's

Deadwood: The Old West during the Gold Rush yet it's not a Western at all. The best character driven show I have ever seen. I was so mad when HBO let it slowly die. It's absolutely wonderful in everything. The sets, the richness of the language, the intensity of the storylines, the acting (oh, the acting). David Milch gets a huge bow from me for this one.

Battlestar Galactica: I never thought I'd have a scifi show in my favorite list, but wow. This show is amazing. I spent days with the finale stuck in my head, going, "Whoa."

Arrested Development: Some of the funniest television ever. The emperor of dysfunctional families. I also kept wondering who is the worse mother: Lucille Bluth or Angela Petrelli.

Buffy: My first fandom show and still one of my favorite shows despite the heap of great shows I've seen since that middle school weekday night when I saw the pilot episode for that little mid-season replacement that looked interesting.

And an honorary mention to The Wire, the most excellent marriage of character and plot I have ever seen.

And because I feel like it, anything Conan is in. "Free Bird" now has a whole new significance for me. Till September, buddy!
