Aww, I'm sorry the internship didn't work out. The same thing happened with me and my first job after graduating. So, at least you've got that experience- you'll know in the future what will be a good fit and what won't be. I'd definitely keep up with this Filmmakers group. It sounds like that was more in line with what you're going for.
