Writing and some Heroes

The books are watching me. As I sit, a humongous pile of unread history books stands less than two feet from my chair, quilting me with its unshrinking presence. Perhaps if I stare at it long enough I shall automatically absorb the information into my brain. *stares* Damnit, it's not working.

I seem to have accidentally called one of my characters Charlie Browne, not remembering the other Charlie Brown as I had not sounded the whole name together until two hours later when it smacked me upside the head. Hast surname changing ensued. I don't know how that happened. I have the sudden urge to call someone Snoopy.

Heroes was good. Certain things are making the OTP fangirl in me not so happy, which makes me extra uncomfortable since I really like Emma and her and Peter are really cute together, but Plaude really has become one of those pairings for me where I really can't picture the characters with other people without it feeling like a puzzle piece jammed where it doesn't belong. Thankfully, this doesn't happen to me very often, but this would be one of those times when it's really bad. *sigh* It just figures that when Heroes decides to develop a relationship organically, and in a cutesy manner to boot, I can't enjoy it.

Which is the reason why I'm back to original fic. The entire time those two were onscreen, my novel kept flashing through my mind. My characters with whom I can do whatever I want, and if I say something is true love, then it is and there's no one to gainsay me. *hugs characters* It is very comforting. Even if they do insist on falling in love with the wrong people and stringing out what were meant to be short plots into gargantuan messes that I have to clean up later.

Oh, I read Zero at the Bone. It's awesome. The only reason it took me four days to read it was because of my novel writing and I still can't believe it took me that long because I had to pry it lose from my hands. So good.

Milo looked absolutely gorgeous in that Liberty Mutual commercial. I just felt like saying that again.

I think I've heard about that, but this really was accidental. In one of the scenes, some guy named Charlie was mentioned before I even knew who Charlie was. Now that I've developed him, I decided to give him a surname, so I looked through one of my period books and came across a William Brown who said completely awesome, so I decided on Brown. It's not until later that I sounded the whole name together.

Original characters rock. So much. I call them my children. They're a lot of fun to play with even if the plot does have a tendency towards madness.

Oh yes. Very good. And there's one Plaude parallel with D being so taciturn and unwilling to talk about his tragic past and the doctor being so sweet and determined to coax's D softer side out of him.

Wow, talk about a coincidence! Hopefully you can find a surname/first name that works just as well.

Mm, it's been ages and ages since I really focused on a group of original characters. Probably so long ago they're all completely cliche-ridden messes.

Ooooh, they just might have to be played by CE and MV in my head, no matter what physical descriptions the text provides.

From the person who recced the book: The physical descriptions are alarmingly accurate. You will have no trouble substituting Peter and Claude. :P

I hadn't considered that while reading it, but it's starting to happen now. It is rather easy.
