The books are watching me. As I sit, a humongous pile of unread history books stands less than two feet from my chair, quilting me with its unshrinking presence. Perhaps if I stare at it long enough I shall automatically absorb the information into my brain. *stares* Damnit, it's not working.

I seem to have accidentally called one of my characters Charlie Browne, not remembering the other Charlie Brown as I had not sounded the whole name together until two hours later when it smacked me upside the head. Hast surname changing ensued. I don't know how that happened. I have the sudden urge to call someone Snoopy.

Heroes was good. Certain things are making the OTP fangirl in me not so happy )
I can't believe it's here already, mostly because I lost a day this week and for me it's still Wednesday.

I just finished a really heavy Anne Boleyn biography which now has my poor index fingers sore. Next up: Parzival or however you want to spell that. You know, I remember, way back, promising to myself that after the dissertation was done, I wouldn't touch history for a month. Where did that promise go? Hell, I started this research while writing the dissertation. Different motivators, I guess.

And who the hell is this Kanye West guy, anyway? Not that I really care. I'm more interested in people who were famous 400 years ago than people who are famous now.

Off to open a bank account. In person. And why am I hearing Reggeaton from the living room TV?
To celebrate, I just bought myself a Mexican history book, because my barebones knowledge about my own country is embarrassing by now. I did learn some this past year, but this subject is so humongous that there's no way to keep up. Meanwhile I'm being inundated by books about Tudor England and backbiting nobles and Greek Literature and humanism and the Reformation interspersed by quick shots of Christopher Moore to inject some wacky fiction in my system. This research is going to take me at least a year. It's insane. Why do I always have to go for the hardest ideas? Why?

And why are there history books that cost $140? This is horrible. *cries*

Also, dealing with banks sucks. A lot.
