This heat is making me thirsty. Just being awake is making me thristy. It hit 90° today. 90°! The avergae first day for 90° is June 17! I'm being cooked alive!
I'm noticing something. I'm geeting more used to 12 episode seasons than 22 episode ones. Most of the shows I watch lately are from either BBC (6-8, Doctor Who is only one I've seen that has as many as 12), Showtime, or HBO (both have 12). So ABC's V wrapping up its first season with 12 episodes feels good to me. I wasn't expecting it, but it feels right. And they could even have lost one. One of the recent ones dragged a bit, imo. I've always felt that 22 episode seasons get stuffed with filler episodes when they don't have a long enough arc to cover it al. Sometimes the filler episodes are fantastic by themselves, yet for some reason the only ones of these I can think of are in Buffy. But I've never been good at remembering things off the top of my head. Although I don't appreciate the humongous hiatus that having only 8 episodes results in. And it is wonderful to have as much as possible of a show you love.
I just came back from taking my first class at my old junior college in... hell, I don't remember how long. It feels so great not having to drive all the way up to Chicago. It's just 20 minutes away. No traffic. Half the price of the Chicago photography courses. *relaxes*
Oh, and I finally started watching Legend of the Seeker. My intention was to start watching a show with a nice fandom with eyes toward the future since Heroes is kaput and I'm feeling fandom deprived (*clings to fandom friends*), but Netflix has all the episodes on instant, so... I don't know if I'll stick with it yet, so I probably shouldn't even be commenting at this point. There's a lot of cliches going on (I'm mostly talking about the music and cinematography, which I'm paying way too much attention to lately, but I'm supposed to do that) and personally, I find prophesies to be a turn off in my fiction. And the ( spoiler ) has been done to death. But again, I've only seen one episode. And I liked that episode. So far so good. Now if they would only ease up on all the slo-mo a bit.
