Weaving Kitten/Pussy's book and/or movie story into this was just genius. it made me all glowy, even more than/as much as (I can't decide) the sweet!chivalrous!Crane-Scarecrow she made him into. that's just... entirely beautiful. in fact, no matter which way I turn, I immediately light upon another thing to lift up and go "golden! genius!" because everything's got that ...necessity? I'm way too fangirly to be eloquent and accurate right now. the point is, there's nothing you write here that doesn't make the story *that much better* and *that much richer* and *that much more poignant, and true, and effective*. and it's just... wow. amazing.
