During the whole of August, I will be a hermit, strapped to my desk (which I need to buy first) crying over 36 pages of hell, but not this month. There's too much traveling going on. But it doesn't seem like anyone is taking the full summer to do this, anyway. Some people (lots, probably) are barely getting deep into it now, while one of my friends is aiming to finish by the end of this month. I've been working since a week after exams, which was mid May. I have another month and a half after July. Sounds good. I'll finish up the reasearch, do the outline, and maybe even the source overview. I can't believe there are people who are only starting now.

I've got enough destinations book to last me four years. I keep thinking that people who live here have no problem going to different countries for much less money than us across the Atlantic because there are so many so close. Just get on the train and go! Trains are awesome, by the way. And Airports are evil. Avoid at all costs. FYI: When booking hotels, check as many websites as you can. I went from feeling resigned about paying $80 to bouncing over $35.

Speaking of traveling, question for [livejournal.com profile] visiblemarket. I'm going to be taking an out of London tour at least one of the days that you're here. Wondering if you'd be interested. I warn you, though, seeing as how they leave from gloriously expensive London, they're hardly what you call cheap.

ETA: Like probably every single person I know has been telling me to do, I am going to take the train that goes under the English Channel. But I'm not going to Paris (I'm headed for Brussels, the city, not the vegetable of icky reputation). I shall doubtless encounter confounded looks everywhere.

It's horrible. It stresses me out so much. Thanks.

Oo, what kind of out of London tour? And what day? I'd have to see if my parents would let me duck out on my own on that day as well.

Also, speaking of London: do you have a preference for ComicCon on Saturday or Sunday?

I want to take this one (http://www.evanevanstours.co.uk/leeds-castle.htm) and this one (http://www.evanevanstours.co.uk/warwick-stratford-oxford.htm) even though I've already been to Stratford, but I really want to see that castle and me being a Tolkienite and all I feel remiss in not going to Oxford. Plus, people keep saying that it's gorgeous. I'd also like to hop over to Hampton Court if possible.

Either day is fine for me. I can't find a schedule of events on the website.

Heh, my dad actually considered us going on one of those. I probably can't make it, though, although I will be going to Stratford (on the Thursday, actually).

I'm thinking Sunday, if that's all right? I only really wanted to see Jewel Straite, and she's going to be there both days.

Shakespeare fans, huh? Unfortunately the house he built was torn down by some nitwit who didn't feel like paying property taxes, but you can see the house he was born in. And the engraving on his grave is cool (I can't believe I just called a grave "cool"). He curses anyone who might disturb his bones.

Okay. The site doesn't say when Chris Sarandon is going to be there, by any chance, does it? I didn't notice until now that he did the voice for Jack Skellington (I got such a crush on that character when I saw the movie).

Yep, we'll be stopping by the Globe as well. I'd heard about the house, and that really does suck.

It looks like he's going to be there both days, so that's not a problem.

The Globe is cool! See if can take the tour. The guy we got was director and actor and his explanation of Elizabethan theatre was so funny. Are you thinking of seeing a show there?

Cool.

From: [identity profile] visiblemarket.livejournal.com

I don't think we'll have the time to see a show(I also think we're going the same day we get in, ie, the 15th, so I may not be completely in the mood to sit through something). But I'm definitely going to take the tour and get as many pictures as I can. I'm going to enjoy this trip, because lately when my family has traveled, there's been too much grumpiness all around.

Yay! So I suppose I'll buy the ticket. Soonish. Once I'm sure I actually have the money for it.

Yeah, seeing a show the night when you get in sucks so much. I actually did that. Not my choice; completely out of my control (plus, it was so boring). The whole group I wnet with fell asleep. It was so embarrassing. We felt so bad about it because the actors noticed. *hides head in shame* But we were so exhausted.

I need to remember to buy it myself. There's too much buying going on at my end, too many things to keep track of.

From: [identity profile] visiblemarket.livejournal.com

Aw, it happens. It's better than falling asleep in class. Which I have...done. Often.

Yeah, I know how it feels. I just paid my rent and feel...very, very poor.

From: [identity profile] guanin.livejournal.com

Not if you paid $20 for it. There was a girl who fell asleep during every play we saw. That was at least $200 that she threw in the trash. Class I would not mind falling asleep in, especially in this one history I took where the professor noticed and did not care. Yet somehow she couldn't tell that she was really boring (the woman thought mammoths were dinosaurs.
