All four give performances that will likely be in the running for an Oscar and Golden Globe; particularly Christopher Eccleston. His character of Fred Noonan was the one with the most depth and arch. Eccleston's performance gives you the sense of truly being there in the plane with Earhart, and makes you feel the same chills that Noonan and Earhart must have felt upon realizing their impending doom.

It would be so amazing if CE got a nomination. the dear guy deserves it.

I am so distracted in my writing. Fuera de Carta aka Chef's Special got here yesterday and I keep replaying scenes in my head. I watched it all in one sitting yesterday and I already want to see it again. I just sneaked in fifteen minutes right now, which included this :



Isn't that one of the sweetest smiles ever? Seriously, this is such a great movie. It cheers my soul.


Which is very helpful right now, because an oil refiniery in PR blew up. LOOK AT THIS! God damn! This is insane! No one was injured in the explosion, apparently, but there are people hospitalized for smoke inhalation. I am so glad I'm not there breathing this. You can see the smoke on radar. I've never seen anything like this.

Oh man, seeing CE at the Oscars/Golden Globes/Academy Awards would be amazing (and not only because of the tuxedo action that would have to ensue). Although.. that would pretty much do in his television career. Oscar/Golden Globe/Academy Award-nominated actors don't exactly wander back onto the small screen too often.

That adorable smile demands I ask what this Fuera de Carta is about.

Yikes! That massive tower of black smoke is terrifying. Yeah, not a good time to be in Puerto Rico.

Oh. *shuffles feet* But... he still deserves it. But, you know, he's CE. He takes a different approach to roles than most actors. And it's not like he sticks around a show for too long, anyway. *frowns*

It's such a great movie. It's about a gay man named Maxi who owns a restaurant in financial trouble. His ex-wife just died, so he has to take in the two kids he hasn't seen in seven years. On top of that, a really hot ex-football player (the guy above) moves in next to him and they wind up having a secret affair, which leads to problems with Maxi's best female friend, who is crushing hard for the football player, but neither of the guys has the courage to tell her what's going on. It's wonderful. You should see it.

I've been messaging people all over the place about this. There was a 2.8 quake registered when it happened and even where people didn't feel that, they heard a sonic boom. Thankfully, the smoke is blowing away from my house, but some of my friends have it on top of them. This is so fucked up.
