In a moment of confidence/madness, I volunteered to be my directing class's casting director for the scenes we're going to film even though I knew it was going to be a lot of work, but hey, I need to learn this stuff. I get to meet some of the talent in town (hopefully they'll be talented), start breaking out of this "meeting new people is scary" shell and get experience I can put on my CV. I've posted a notice on mandy.com, a filmmakers meetup group I'm part of and got a pile of headshots from my instructor. So far so good. I already got a reply from the mandy posting.
On a side note, looking through the headshots has accomplished what I never thought possible. I now want to get into portraiture photography. Huh. I'm noticing every detail of composition now. We were analyzing some scenes last night in class and felt so awake by the time I got home that I was actually bouncing. I'm never awake when I get home. The drive is so boring that my eyes start drooping half an hour in (which is scary).
More replies are coming in. Okay, breathe. I can do this.
