Does no one read instructions? On the casting call, I posted the address for the auditions. Yet five different people have asked for the address. One person took five people before she "noticed" it was in Chicago, even though I mentioned the word "Chicago" three times. I can't deal with these people. If I weren't desperate, I wouldn't even bother replying. If this were a paying job, I definitely wouldn't. I do not want to work with the equivalent of high school student who don't put their names on the test.

I am noticing that. This does not bode well. I'm really hoping at least some of these people do show up, cause else I'm screwed. I keep thinking about what happened to you. How do these people expect to get hired if they don't act professional?

Well, for the most part, there's a reason they're using the Internet to get jobs instead of having an agent or going through the casting departments at film schools (SVA has a casting office but I never used it). But... I really don't know.

Do you have to pay to go through a casting agency? This is my first experience with actors, so I'm woefully ignorant about these things. Interestingly, the coop I'm taking classes at has courses for all the basics except acting. Nor have I run across an actor in six classes. We're all "behind the camera only" people.

Well, the casting department was a free service the school provided, so I don't really know. We only had the one class on casting when I was there so I'm not entirely sure of the process. I mostly just cast my friends, except for that one guy I got on Mandy, who frankly wasn't that spectacular.

I only have one actress friend, but she's in Puerto Rico, so not much help here. Hopefully there will be some good actors in this bunch.
