Especially when said food is still alive and they have no intention of eating it, anyway. Apparently, my grandmother's dog likes to play with chicks as if they were chew toys, grabbing them in its mouth and tugging at their wings just for the fun of it while the poor bird is squeaking for its life. I finally coaxed the dog into the house after half an hour so I could get the chick away from him. I kept trying to drag him away, but I was afraid he might bite me. Oh yeah, he also bites for fun and then acts all innocent about it, though at least he no longer dives for my toes like he used to when he was a puppy. Needless to say, not my favorite dog. He's not trained, either, since that side of the family is very old school about raising dogs, i.e. let them do whatever the fuck they want. Not my grandma lets him go after the chicks, she hates that, actually, but she's not physically able to deter him, either. He's like the killer whales tossing those seal pups back and forth before eating them. Except he doesn't bother eating the chicks if he kills them, either, which makes the whole thing completely pointless. I wonder if loose dogs bother with that since they don't have a plate of food waiting for them.
