Oh my god, Harry Potter is insane. Completely, totally nutters. Staunchly in favor of cocoa-puffs, and all that.

And Twilight seems to be equally hideous, although I've thankfully never dipped into any fic for that.

There are actually some sane sectors of that fandom, which are the ones I stuck to, but so much of it is total madness on so many different levels. My leaving was a combination of getting tired of that, getting interested in other fandoms, and being bored by the seventh book. God, that thing read like badfic. The weird thing about it is that many people don't really like the books that much, just the characters, and they usurp them to write fics that turn out to be way better than the original. I'm kinda included in that group.

I won't even touch that one. It scares me.
