The screen keeps blinking green for half a second. It just got stuck on me in some weird pattern I'd never seen before and it wouldn't even go into hibernation when I pressed the ON button, which is what it always does. I took the battery out, restarted it in safe mode, then in regular mode, but it keeps doing that. It's never done this before. Dammit, I don't have a backup computer if this goes to hell (unlike my dad, who has three, but he is a technology junkie and a longtime job. I used to find it a bit silly, but not anymore). Am I going to have to ask the HP people about this? Because no one ever knows what the hell I'm asking no matter how plainly I explain it to them until the fourth technician.

I'm hoping it'll just go away. I just did a full system scan for viruses and the program found nothing, so it's probably the computer being crazy. Not that that's any better.

Maybe it's your graphic card that is going bad... Hum...broken material might be worse than a visus, broken hardware is a pain in the bum.

I had to replace my fan and my hard drive this fall, the thing you learn while doing that!

I hope it is just a phase though, sometimes this stuff goes away. *shrugs*

It's not like a constant thing. More like three or four times. Sometimes weird stuff does go away, so I'm waiting to see what it does today.

Ugh, that sucks. I haven't had to replace stuff yet on any computer, but this one is only a year old! And it's HP, which my computer savvy nephew swears by.

Yikes, yeah, that is very nervous-making. I'd say if it doesn't go away soon, get a move on telling someone about it. You don't want to be stranded without a computer.

yeah. I'm waiting to see what it does today. I hope it doesn't come back.
