I was walking in my grandmother's lawn when something long and reptile looking slithered among the tall grass. My first thought was, "Lizard, but it's too big to be a lizard's tail and that doesn't look anything like an iguana's tail. It's gotta a snake." And yes! It was! It emerged out of the grass, its head curled up as it held a lizard in its mouth and hurriedly slithered away from the pesky human, ie. me. It was maybe a foot and a half long, brown, slim and so cute! My grandmother asked me what I was staring at and I just said, "Um... a lizard." Well, I did see a lizard. It was part of the scene. My grandmother hates snakes, so I wasn't going to tell her there was one in her front yard, though she knows they're there. Her house is in the mega-urbanized countryside, a cross between a suburb and a mountain range. On the other hand, she likes the spiders that freak me out, so we're even.

In fandom news, I'm reading Sherlock fanfic again. I'm poking around the Thor comms. I'm still trying to figure out what the hell happened in Pirates 4 (and mentally begging Johnny Depp to say no to a fifth one). Wondering if the new Hollywood The Three Musketeers movie coming out this fall will be interesting/slashy enough for a fandom to emerge (I miss having a period fandom). Realizing I need to finish reading the novel said movie is based on. I read it when I was like 14, so I don't remember anything (I'm 27 now). And I read it in English. Now I can read it in French! Yay! Granted, with the dictionary glued to my side, but it works. Having a spaz attack because not only is Martin Freeman the new Bilbo (which I knew already) in The Hobbit, but Benedict Cumberbatch and Stephen Fry are in it! *dies* I need to find out where they're filming this and sneak into the set. This is too awesome. Just too awesome. *grin glues on face*
