I hate you. A lot. I want to stab you, rip out your insides, and crush them under my foot. Unfortunately, as I'm inside you, I can't do that without making things worse for myself, so I'll refrain. But I hate you. A lot. Really, really lots.

Translation: My body has decided to launch its latest attack on me, preventing me from doing anything but lie down and wish someone would give me a huge shot of Vicodin. On Thursday, I got these vicious stomach cramps that had me at the hospital at 5 in the morning (I was the only person there), where they gave me a cocktail of antacids, pills, an IV drips, followed by antiulcer medication that made the pain go away, but then tomorrow it came back! When I was in York! *punches stomach* So I only enjoyed like two hours before I ate lunch and got attacked by the evil stomach and spent the whole afternoon lying down in the park because the train left at 7:30. And then it was delayed. *headdesk* I sat at the emergency room for two hours before they told us it would be a four hour wait because they'd just received a major trauma emergency which pulled most of their doctors from the ER (A&E over here, by the way). Since the pain had gone away due to not eating for nine hours, I went home, then on to the GP this morning. I wound up in the A&E again today because it appears that the pill the GP gave me doesn't take the pain away immediately but rather works on the long term, but I couldn't take it anymore (I made the humongous mistake of giving in to horrendous hunger pangs). Through some miracle I only had to wait one hour to see a doctor this time. Maybe some divine force finally heard me crying (literally) about risking missing the play today. Yes. That play. Not that there was a chance in hell that I would not have run out of hospital and made it to the theatre anyway even if it felt like my insides were going to eat me alive. Not with that play. Hell no.

I hate my body.

Painkillers, though, are love. Especially the cocktails they give you at the ER. Mmm.

On a side note, I don't care how much it costs, I am getting a phone with internet on it. I was sitting in the waiting room wanting to call dad, but I don't know the code to call Mexico from the UK and no one I know is going to know, so I needed the internet to find out, but I didn’t have it, which is not cool. Plus, the internet is my primary means of communication anyway. I hardly use the phone as a phone. I think I use it more as a calculator.

Now lets see if I don't get run over by a car on my way to Covent Garden. It's the only thing missing, really.

Yikes, that sounds awful! Well, I sure hope you're doing better now. Anyway, I'm positive you can forget any amount of pain while you're watching that play. I of course demand to hear all about it, but not until you can manage to stay out of the ER for a while, y'hear? I'm serious, now.

I solved the problem for the play by not eating. However, I have the feeling that this isn't a viable long term solution. The pan meds really helped, too. I ate something now and took the antacid the doctor prescribed, so we'll see. He did warn that it might not take the pain away straight away, though. :(

Oh yeah, pain does not exist whilst that man is standing five meters in front of you, being fantastic and gorgeous. *dreamy face* There's a scene where he cries and I wanted to go over and comfort him. He's just so awesome.

The ER doctor thinks it's gastritis, which it probably is. That stuff is nasty.

Thanks. I'm hoping the meds will work.

I am so sorry! I hope you're feeling better soon and able to continue with your trip.

Yeah, bodies suck. Have they been able to actually pinpoint what it is? I see a mention of antiulcer meds but...seriously, an ulcer? That can't be normal at your age. Anyway. Hope you get all that figured out, and are able to actually enjoy tonight. Good luck!

The ER doctor thinks it's gastritis, but the GP sent me to do blood tests (well, not me personally; I just had to suck up getting a needle stuck in my arm, again) The leaflet that came with the antiulcer medication said it could also be used to treat other ailment at the doctor's discretion, so I don't think that was the reason. It did take the pain away very fast. Back then. I've got new meds now, one of which might be fighting off the effect of the food I just put in my stomach. I hope so.

Oh, dear *hugs* I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this. Is there an actual diagnosis or are they trying to figure out what's wrong? I know from experience that's the worst part. When I was a child, I spent over two years being treated for the wrong condition (happily, no long term consequences... only lots of unnecessary medication and X-rays).

*hugs* I ate ten minutes ago and have yet to be crippled by pain, so maybe the meds are working. One of the doctors said that he thinks it's gastritis, which I got like three years ago, although that time it was worse. The other doctor ordered blood tests, though, to be sure. Ugh, that sucks. Two years? Damn. This is why I like to fish around for different opinions. When my grandfather had a stroke, there were at least five doctors swearing up and down that he had a tumor in his head, gall stones and a dozen other things he didn't have.

OMG, you poor thing!! I've had some pretty bad stomach issues in my day to the point where I'm a total bear and yet say nothing, or where I've stayed home, but never so much I had to go into the ER. *hugs*

*hugs back* I tried to brave it out, but I couldn't even sleep, so at 5 in the morning I just gave up, deciding that there was no way I was waiting around for my regular doctor to show up at his office at 10 because the pain was too much. The same happened here in London. And yet what was the med that actually worked? An over the counter medication. That I could have just bought myself whenever. *headdesk*

Hey, at least something did work! That's good. Did anyone figure out what was causing the problems?

From: [identity profile] guanin.livejournal.com

It's probably gastritis. One of the doctors sent me for blood tests just in case, though.

Oh noes! Too many people on my flist seem to be feeling crappy these days. I don't know what this could be that you're having, but if it's preventing you from eating, it's definitely a problem. Hope you successfully get it checked out soon. *hug*

Same with my flist. What is going on? It's creepy. The doctor says it's probably gastritis and it does have that particular shade of awfulness. The over the counter medication (who'd have thought) that the second doctor gave me is working, though, so that's good.

Oh, poor you! That sounds horrible! Hope you're feeling better now! *hugs*

*hugs back* I am feeling much better, thanks, though any time twinge my stomach gives me freaks me out. I've been sticking around London just in case.
