Things I should be doing:

--working arduously on my thesis
--replying to messages
--buying A4 paper
--being responsible

What I'm actually doing:

--watching True Blood episode 8 for the... You know what, I lost count by now. I appear to be shipping a het pairing. Again. They're growing on me. Odd.
--checking out District 9, which I really want to see for some reason even though aliens usually get no reaction out of me. Bizarre. Oh, Peter Jackson.
--reading [livejournal.com profile] visiblemarket's time travel fic in pieces because for some reason every time I start reading it, something happens that makes reading smut uncomfortable. Namely my grandfather working in the yard. Which my room faces. And I can't shut the curtain without being asphyxiated by the heat. (I'm loving it so far, by the way).
--geeking out over the magnificence that is Google Books. That site is a lifesaver. Total lifesaver. I left some photocopies I really needed at home, but never mind, for there are the books! On my computer screen! For free! *hugs Google*
--getting attacked by random lines from Shaun of the Dead while writing the thesis. No, mind, sacrificial victims are not zombies.
--watching Tropic Thunder, one of the most hilarious movies ever.
--writing this list

District 9 does look cool, and really sophisticated for a "space aliens" movie. I will probably try to go see it. I haven't watched any True Blood, but I have read [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda's recaps.

"The zed word- don't say it." "Why not?" "Because it's ridiculous!" </ enabler> Go work on your thesis!

I was pretty intrigued when I saw the first trailer by the context their placing the aliens in. Seeing Jackson's name pop up was really just the nail in the coffin. I might watch it with my cousin this weekend, or if not go on my birthday, cause no way am I staying here working on this thesis on that day. Not the whole day, anyway.

I've always been of two minds with True Blood. It's addictive and fun, but sometimes I get really annoyed. Mainly by the fact that there's enough sex in it for it to almost qualify as a porno. And totally "just for the sake of it" sex. Like at least three times per episode. I know it's HBO, but Deadwood had three brothels in it and still didn't have as much sex as this show. It's not the kind of thing that bugs me usually, but it's just totally random. Other than that, it's fun. Most of the time. Especially lately. I'm quite bouncy about the next episode.

*snort* Comic gold. The line that was particularly bugging me was "removing the head or destroying the brain" because I was writing about sacrificial victims getting their heads cut off. It would leave me alone! I think it took me five minutes to get over that.

Oh, -het-. It happens, it happens. Usually when they're very good, though, only. Also--True Blood. Man, I need to watch that...yes? I've heard so much about it; I just.../looks around helplessly...have so much to watch/consume already? D:?

And lol. In my experience, reading smut w/ relatives about never gets any easier. XD

Yeah, I have that problem, too. I still haven't caught up with the FMA episodes I missed while traveling. Just the manga, because I can't resist that one. I started watching True Blood because HBO reran the whole first season while I was in PR, which is the place where I get HBO, so it was easy and very addictive (plus, there's this very smexy vampire who is very hard to resist).

No, it does not. It's damn awkward. I'll be in the middle of a scene and suddenly someone starts talking in the living room and I have to stop. That's no good.
