Whoohoo! That was awesome. And now I can start selling books!

Heh, so what happened to "Banks suck!", there? ;)

That was before the $50. No, but the "Banks suck!" thing is still there because I have yet to receive my money from the London bank and that is much more than $50.

I will not give you my regular "Banks are good! Save your money in them!" lecture, because you're right. They should give you your London money.

I've had so much back and forth with that bank that I don't even want to pick up a phone anymore. Supposedly I've transferred the money, but since their system is different from the US system (much, much more security numbers), so I don't know. It's a whole bunch of BS, really.

Which bank is it? Some of them are notorious for being difficult.

Yay money! I recently deposited my lone paycheck. It was... yeah, it was the biggest check I've ever received for any reason in my life.

HSBC. They did not appreciate my not being able to give them any more numbers other than the account number and the routing number. UK banks have a myriad numbers and codes and words and if you're missing one, you have to reset the whole thing. Which is good for security, but not for UK-US bank relations.

You won't believe it, but that was my first thought; my grandparents had a hell of a time getting their money out of them, and I'm not sure if they ever managed it.

Money is awesome. I need to figure out how to get some more.

Oh, crap. They better give me my money, cause I'm not going to let up. It's half my savings.

From: [identity profile] visiblemarket.livejournal.com

Well, they may have had more problems doing it because they died. I don't think you'll have that problem ;)

From: [identity profile] guanin.livejournal.com

Oh. That would make things more difficult I did it on Monday and these things are supposed to take a while, so we'll see.

I hope you do get your money; I think they may have been a little more willing to give my grandparents the runaround because they were rather old and, well, maybe they were hoping they would die. But that's just me being cynical.

They're banks. Being cynical is perfectly warranted.

From: [identity profile] visiblemarket.livejournal.com

Well, let's broaden it to: they're businesses. Cynicism is warranted, but they're a necessary evil.
