I really should stop reading about the business of writing.

It all looks so darn scary. Dealing with publishers, marketing. Ack! I'm just going to ignore all this reality for now (well, except as far as trying to publish my little short story is concerned) and just concentrate on writing. This real world is too intimidating.

Eeek, I feel you. Every time I read about how hard it is for novice screenwriters to get their scripts noticed by studio execs, I start getting anxious and almost get too afraid to write anything. I think at this point you've got a great attitude... just relax, keep writing, enjoy the creative process, and worry about the business when it comes later :)

With everything, it's all people hiring their buddies and looking at what else you've done for reference. What if there is nothing else? Everyone starts at the bottom, why don't people remember that more often? I'm trying not to get too bogged down by the reality of it, because else I would be too scared, too, and just stay in fanfiction. Now what good would that do? Well, obviously it wouldn't be a waste of time, but you know what I mean.
