Originally I had two gigs. One was the same as the one yesterday, so that's a no go. The other one I haven't heard back from since I asked if I could get free parking. Maybe I shouldn't have said "free", but I can't afford paying for it in Chicago and it's not like they're paying anything and I have very expensive equipment I need to buy in addition to feeding the machine parked outside (I demand teleporting abilities now).

On a lighter note, I took 137 pictures of dandelions today. They're all crowded on this rough patch of pebbles and odd stuff on the lawn so my grandfather couldn't mow them down. I do not understand why people don't like dandelions. They are so pretty! Maybe I appreciate them more because they are another thing we don't have in Puerto Rico, so they still feels exotic to me.

ETA: This does not bode well. My contact for tomorrow just emailed me without answering my parking question. I just looked at the UIC website, and yes, they do charge. This is supposed to be a continuous job, not a one time thing and they're not going to pay me anything. With zero income, I can't afford $10 parking on top of $10 gas for the trip.

Argh, sorry you're having issues with your project. They should really try to work with you on that, if they want the help. (Teleporting abilities would rock so hard.)

Heh, dandelions are pretty cool when they're little balls of intense yellow, but not so much when they choke flowers or grass, or when they kick allergies into high gear. You should post some of your pics, I'd love to see the dandelion in all its glory.

It actually turned out very well. They paid for my gas and parking after they asked me where I lived. People always freak out about that. For Chicago people, and hour long drive is so long. Same for Puerto Ricans since the island is so tiny. They were very nice, we had a great collaboration, especially since the director didn't have that much experience with the equipment so by the end of it he was giving me complete control over most of the shots and asking for my input on the actors' movements.

Personally, I prefer dandelions to the typical lawn grass. I've always found uniformly green lawns pretty bland. I don't have pollen allergies myself, so I admit that might make feel better towards them, but isn't that caused by pollen of all the flowers blooming again, not just the dandelions? I thought it was. As soon as I recover from this weekend, I'll post some pictures. I'm still so sleepy.

Well, dandelions certainly don't help, considering how quickly they spread and how much pollen they put out. Yay pictures!
