I got into The Insitute for the Study of the Americas

Finally, one of the universities responded. I was pretty sure I was going to get into this one, but they took an eternity to get back to me, so I was still pretty nervous. Well, I'm officially in. Yay! So, that's one down. It's not my first choice, but now I'm thinking I might go there, because the course offerings look really cool. I can actually learn stuff! Not like at my current university, where they have nothing but the most vague classes in the universe. Now I have to get moving about adquiring a VISA.

I made 14 icons today while I was watching Dexter, including this one. I can't just watch TV, I have to be doing something else, even if it's a show I love. I don't know why, but I can't keep my mind engaged on just one thing for too long. I'm going to end up paying LJ more money for icon space, I just know it. I need more, goddamn it! 35 is too few.

Oh, that's sad. Why must LJ charge so much for icon space? I really shouldn't be spending my money on LJ (I'm supposed to be saving), but icons tempt me into spendthriftness. They're so shiny.

Thank you! Yeah, it's in London. All three universities I applied to are there. I was also going to try in Toronto and Chicago, but I missed the due dates and my top choice was London, anyway. I've been there twice and I love it. It's so different from Puerto Rico.

Congratulations! =D It's nice to know you've gotten into at least 1 of your choices -- makes you feel a lot more secure and less worried about the whole university process. (Me thinks, anyway.)

Wow. I can't watch TV without eating, but I think watching a show and icon making at the time would be beyond me. Total kudos!

Thank you! Yes, it's very refreshing. Me and my Dad were going nuts with the wait. One of my friends even suggested that I start thinking about a backup plan, but I was like, "No. I have to get in. I have to!" And I got in! This is the same university that asked me for a writing sample and a longer statement three weeks ago. Or was it a month? Oddly enough, it's the last university I sent an application to and the first one to get back to me.

If I'm watching a show on the actual TV set, I do find it a little taxing, but since it was on the computer, I just set up the browser window on the left corner of the screen and the picture/software windows on the other. That way, my eyes didn't have to wander very far. I get restless when I'm watching stuff, for some reason. And I love making icons. It's so much fun.
