I was planning to write up some posts throughout the trip, but it didn't happen except for this one, so I'll post it with extra stuff after it.

So. The trip. Was insane. Nothing weird happened. No delays or some goof parking the plane two feet away from the landing platform. It was just unbearably long. I went to bed at 1:30 in the morning, took an hour to fall asleep, woke up at 4:30 (so I slept only 2 hours), took the 5:35 bus to Paddington, took the train that goes to Heathrow to Terminal 4, which is wonderful and beautiful because there was almost no one there. Alright there were plenty of people, but not in the queues. It took me like five minutes to get checked in. At terminal 3 it takes one hour just to traverse the humongous, interminable line that refuses to move and sucks out all scraps of hope from your shriveling soul. Okay, that might be overstating it, but if you’ve been stuck at one of those hideous lines at the airport (or the bank; or the DMV), you know what I mean. An hour to Amsterdam, then two hours at the airport and 11 to Mexico City. Then I had a mild freak-out when I couldn’t get the pay phone working, but it turned out I didn’t need to anyone anyway. So I got on the bus, which leaves straight from the airport and that took another three hours to get to Queretaro, where two aunts were waiting for me, because hell no, was I not taking another three hours to get over here. My sanity was already on the verge of collapse. So we stayed at a hotel for that night, then drove over here the next day.

Here is a little town, but not the sleepy, tranquil kind you see in movies and yearn to go to for a weekend to get away from it all. It’s one of the biggest clothes producers in the region and bursting with people. I run into less people in London. And there are scooters everywhere! I’ve never seen so many in my life. There were plenty the last time I was here, but not this many. You have to keep a constant eye out for them or you’ll get run over crossing the street. Even if they have the red light, they just keep going. Not like London. Not that I don’t get almost run over every other day. But it’s not this bad.

I miss London. Two days and I already miss London. I didn’t expect that to happen so soon. I guess I’m bored here. The fun stuff doesn’t start until the fourth when I get back to Mexico City. The weather isn’t helping, cause wow, is it hot here. Well, not PR hot, since here it’s dry, but hot. I don’t like heat. Warmth is nice, heat... Not so much. Lack of internet at home sucks too. There are two internet cafes on my street, but I’m so lazy that I haven’t gone yet. Well, until I post this, that is. I’m writing it up at home to save money later.

Also, telenovelas are the suck. I’m already sick of them. Exactly why did I like these things so much? I get why they're so addictive, but damn, the melodrama. It's cloying around my brain, strangling my sanity. And the dramatic music whenever some scandalous revelation comes along cracks me up every time. I’m not sure how much more I can take. Because here it’s not just one or two a day, it’s four or five. The tv is on the whole day. It’s madness.

I’m not sure what I wrote in the piece above, since I have no energy to read it right now, but let me say that my exasperation with the soaps lasted only for a few days before I got completely sucked in, and now I miss them. A lot. I want to know what happened with Ricardo and Marianna! And whether not so dead Ramón was found out not to be dead! And if Lilianna exacts revenge on her own daughter, though she doesn’t know it’s her daughter, she thinks it’s her sister’s, so she keeps saying that the father is someone else, so poor Ricardo thinks he’s married to his sister and there’s crying all over the place and what is it about this woman that she’s got three men after her, including one guy who is her brother, but he didn’t realize that until now. Damnit, I want to know!

Anyway,.. Mexico. Was alright. The first two weeks were kinda dull since we didn’t do much other than sit around the house, but we did go to the town where my dad was born and I took lots of pictures of the old convent and the streets, which are very nice and clean now that they’ve nominated it Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town). We’ve had Spanish royalty and English duke’s or count or something come down and throw money into the place and everything. Pictures shall come later when I can actually concentrate.

I should probably just get to the reason why I can’t concentrate already. Long story short: I got food poisoning. Three days ago. I feel fine from that now, but one of the meds gave me an allergic reaction, so now I have itchy red splotches all over me and I haven’t slept more than three hours straight in three days. Well, until this morning when I got back from the emergency room with these shiny, new pills for the red thingies. However, one of them is the drowsy type and even though I could have taken the non-drowsy one, I figured, since I needed the sleep, why not? Now I don’t know if it’s that messing with my system, because I feel like I’m about to collapse. And I will. As soon as I eat something and watch some Reaper.

On Heroes and Reaper: no spoilers, please. I’ll catch up as soon as I can, which is one a day due to stupid Megavideo. I’m favoring Reaper at the moment, since it makes me happy without wanting to bash some character’s head in for being stupid or incoherent or trusting his brother (though he’s stopped that now, right? Right?!) or being Danko. Whom I hate. So much.

Since there is no way I can catch up with three weeks’ worth of flist, please tell me if anything interesting happened while I was away. Pretty pictures? Funky Grunny stories? Cute bunny rabbits?

Clocking off now. God, I’m tired.

LOL I was just thinking last night, "Hey, [livejournal.com profile] guanin hasn't been around in a while..." Glad to have you back! ♥

Anyway, sounds like a wacky trip! Sucks that you got food poisoning though; that can't have been pleasant.

As for interesting things, I finished my final film project of the year, if you wish to view it: Inverted (http://www.vimeo.com/4152423)

Thanks! I technically could have gone down to the internet cafe on my street, but the foreign computer/weird/weird settings/unbearable traffic noise drove me a little nuts. But now I'm back and I'm finally awake, though the red splotches are driving me insane. The food poisoning is almost expected in Mexico, considering that all you need is some idiot not washing their hand right or using tap water to make your food. Which happens. I feel a lot more secure just being back someplace where I can drink the tap water. I can't believe I'm celebrating drinking tap water.

Film! I like it! Really like it! I kinda saw what was coming, but knowing you and knowing me what other conclusion was I gong to draw? And you did a great job with the editing. Totally smooth and not clunky at all. I think I'll watch it again. Now.

I couldn't help but think of this image when I read that. (http://23.media.tumblr.com/XvRWxRqwWjx4lzww8VMSrBlCo1_500.png)

Thank you so much! :D Haha, yeah, anyone who knows me well at all is gonna be able to guess the ending, lol. I wanted it to be sort of obvious but not too much, so yay!

Sounds like an awesome trip, too bad that you got food poisoning.

LOL @ telenovas XD.

Can't wait to see pictures!!

Get some rest and we'll catch up later.

It was fun. Lost of pyramids and even one site that's still not open to the public, but then the world had to screw with me. Darn world.

I'm going to see if I can find some online. I miss my novelas.

I'm fully awake now (finally), at 2 in the morning. Yup. No, this hasn't messed up my sleeping cycle at all.

Yay, you're back!! *hugs*

Lol, telenovelas. In Ugly Betty the dad is always watching them, and the music is like DUN DUN DUN. :P

Food poisoning? That's no fun. :/ Are you all better now?

Ugh, Megavideo is so annoying with the time limit! Especially since it usually has pretty great quality compared to a lot of the other sites.
And I hate Danko too. *shakes fist at him*

*hugs back* Finally. I missed you guys so much.

Oh, god, the melodramatic music. It always cracks me up. But it-s so much fun. I'm trying to narrow down the three I was watching to only one because I don't have time for them all, but I keep wondering what's happening. Ahh!

I'm fine now, thanks. But for a while there it was so ugh. Darn body.

I hate Megavideo. But it's almost the only place where people upload stuff now. And yeah, the quality's better, too. *shakes fist*

Down with Danko! I hope something bad and evil happens to him.
