I had to wait two weeks after it came out to watch it because of stupid essays, just like now I have to wait another week to watch Star Trek (who thought I'd be so eager to watch a ST movie) because of stupid exams. Though I could sneak out and watch it anyway, but I am not paying $12.75 to see it here when I can wait till PR and pay $6.50 or even $4 if I catch it on Ladies Wednesday. Which is a week and a half from now. *weeps* So for the moment, I'm going to ignore anything Star Trek related and focus on military regimes (bastards), squabbling party politics, suicidal dictators, and millenarian figures who convinced everyone they were here to bring the new Eden. Or whatever the Andean equivalent was.

Oh, and watching Tru Calling, which is a neat show, so of course they canceled it, though I think the concept could have fitted very nicely in a self-contained season. And I love Eliza Dushku. And the guy who plays her brother is quite hot. Me and pretty boys.

Right. Gotta run and write the fic I did not write yesterday because I got sucked into this novel I should not be reading right now but I could not take it anymore. I was getting burn out, not a good thing 6 days before this nightmare is all over.

It's not even noon yet?! Just how early did I get up today? Yeesh. I don't even want to think about how little sleep I've been getting lately.

Wow, Tru Calling. That's a blast from the past, there. Wasn't her brother like a gambling addict? If not addicted to something else as well...I remember him being kind of an unsavory person, although admittedly I watched like three episodes back when I was....younger.

I have absolutely no desire to see the Star Trek movie. Or the Wolverine one. Which I feel is quite a blow to my geek cred, but I'll get over it.

I hadn't heard of it, but I saw it on this site and noticed that Eliza Dushku was on it. That's enough for me. Yup, gambling addict and so sure that big sis will bail him out every time. He's harmless, though, but really, really needs to straighten out before someone beats the crap out of him, which has almost happened so many times already. I just enjoy the view. The sister is worse, though. She's addicted to coke and lies about it.

I do. A lot. Because it is NOT politics or exam related or dissertation related. Plus, it's in a movie theatre, which I never go to anymore and it's pure escapist fantasy that I can discuss with geeky people and I miss that so much. With Heroes done for the season, I need something to fill in and am not really particular about what. Yes, I may be a little bit desperate. I just want to gorge myself in geekiness (and movies; I miss movies) until I can take no more (not that such a thing is possible).

I'm dying to see Star Trek, but.. well, I'm kind of at the beach right now, so there's that. And anyway, I too am waiting for the cheaper ticket prices at the tiny theater near my campus. I guess we'll both just have to grin and bear it for now.

Ah, the beach. I never go, but I find wadding quite enjoyable. Cheap theatres are love. There's one five minutes away from the house at Illinois, so if I can wait for the movies to become two or three months old, I go there. There isn't one in PR, but one of the good things London does to you is that it makes anything someplace else look cheap.

Ahh, I miss ladies' Wednesday in PR. I avoid the theaters here because I refuse to pay $10 for a movie when I could pay $4 in PR... (unless, of course, it's an awesome movie that I just *have* to see; there are usually about one or two of those a year)

Ladies Wednesday is brilliant. Apparently there is student Tuesday, too, though I've never gone. I still have my old UPR id, though. But I'd never be able to wait on most movies that long (unless I'm here, where the prices are seriously ridiculous. That $12.75 is with the student discount at one of the theatres. Regular price is about 12.50 pounds, which is $18.75, which is ludicrous. Oh, and that's because the exchange rate is now at $1.50 versus the $2 it used to be at. *head desks so hard* So the $10 manages to somehow sound not that bad. Which is wrong. And evil.

Oh yeah, I used to go to student Tuesdays too. But once I went and they wouldn't give me the rate and I can't remember why. It was either the time of the day or the popularity of the movie... no me acuerdo. But after that, my friends just started going on Wednesdays instead. It's easier to get the rate, they don't ask for proof of being female. :-D (At least not to me, I don't know if they ever have any debatable cases for which they do check!)

I still have my UPR id too, though it's so beaten up, I don't know if they'd still believe I'm still a student there, lol. I also look REALLY young in the picture. I wonder if they'd accept my Rutgers id? That one is much newer. They have $4 matinee movies too, which was cool if you wanted to go early and avoid crowds.

Dude, England theater prices sound insane. I don't blame you for not going!

Maybe if a really androgynous person came up, but that would be a very awkward situation all the way around. They can't just ask, can they? It's insulting. I have this fictional situation going through my head and it's so funny.

The picture on mine looks 20 years old, but it did so when it was brand new, so they can't complain. I'm wondering if they'd take my Uni of London one, too. It looks very official with its barcode.

I've gone once to see Watchmen. That's it. Hell no, I'm not paying 13 bucks. But I was really desperate with that one.
