I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to get anything done today. Because I just got back from seeing Star Trek so I want to download Zachary Quinto pictures, but then I got derailed by Fringe, which is Fringe and just thinking the name Fringe makes me start bouncing because I want the second season right this second. Oh, and I'm listening to the LOTR soundtrack right now, so of course I want to watch LOTR.
Right. Star Trek. It was cool. I'm afraid I'm not as super excited as other people are, but the only show/movie with spaceships that has managed the feat to get me super excited is Firefly, so that's normal. Spock was awesome. Both of them. I am so glad J. J. Abrahams went the alternate reality/time travel/other you route because that is so my weak spot. Like a true Borges fan, I am totally in love with the whole AU thing. AUs are love. And Spock! ZQ totally made this for me. His acting was excellent. And how had I not noticed what gorgeous eyes he has? The part where he beat the crap out of Kirk made me laugh, probably because Kirk is just not my kind of character. There's a very fine line where I like cocky and where it rubs me the wrong way.
Bad stuff: Like in most male-driven stuff, women are either pretty window dressing or the dead motivation for why men fight. This annoys the hell out of me. Bitch magazine had already warned me about that. At least Abrahams did a much better job in Fringe.
