I started googling 'historical consultants', which I can't believe I didn't do before, although Google is not very helpful, I must say. 95% of the results are people's CVs. I did like the first one I saw, though. The guy has an MA, but no PhD, like me, is a creative writer and specializes in Medieval, Tudor, and maritime history. If you change 'Medieval' for 'Aztec', that's me. So that helps. I am having an awful hard time finding firms, though. I've only found two that specialize for the media so far and one of them is exclusively military/WW I and II. Not my thing at all.
